Current Opening: Senior Associate

We combine an in-depth knowledge of electric power and natural gas markets with rigorous economic and technical analysis to help clients assess market opportunities, develop business strategies, evaluate market developments, analyze policy implications, and address regulatory issues.
Our work spans many areas, including energy project finance, renewable energy, regulatory and litigation support, energy policy, and utility rate design. Our client base includes major financial institutions, renewable and conventional power developers, power marketers, municipalities, commercial and industrial end-users, natural gas pipeline and storage service providers, regulatory and policy agencies, and other strategic players in the energy sector.
We build lasting relationships with our clients by delivering top-notch analyses and advice that solve our clients’ business challenges and help them take advantage of new business opportunities. Typical projects include some or all of the following:
- Analysis of policy, regulatory, and market developments
- Financial due diligence of independent power projects
- Expert witness testimony for regulatory or legal proceedings
- Forecasts of electricity rates or rate elements
- Research related to energy rates, markets, policies, or regulations
- Development of spreadsheet models, memoranda, reports, and presentations
As a Senior Associate at MRW, you will have a significant role in a wide variety of these projects. With limited oversight you will map out project tasks, delegate and supervise assignments, conduct research, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, write reports and memoranda, and communicate with clients.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Electricity markets
- Natural gas markets
- GHG/emissions markets
- Utility ratemaking
- Energy project finance
- Energy policy and regulation
- Renewable energy, distributed energy, and energy efficiency
- Advanced skills in quantitative (Excel) and qualitative analysis
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Track record of success with project planning, task delegation and supervision, product development, and client interaction
- Masters degree in science, engineering, public policy, economics, or a related field preferred
